Meet our Rabbi
Rabbi Yisrael Baron studied at religious academies in Los Angeles and New York. Upon graduating in 1992, he assumed a rabbinic internship in New Haven, Connecticut. He subsequently received his Rabbinic Ordination in 1995 from the late Chief Rabbi of Montreal, Rabbi Pinchas Hirshprung, and from the Chabad Rabbinate in Israel. In 1996 he received his ordination as a Scribe. As a Jewish Peace Corp volunteer, he traveled to the Caribbean. He also traveled to Moscow, Alma Ata, and Samarkand in the former USSR as a youth counselor and teacher. He married in 1996, and since 1998 has served as the Spiritual Leader and Director of Chabad Lubavitch of Sunny Isles Beach, where he lives with his wife Toby and six children. He also serves as Co-Director of iVolunteerFL.org, Chaplain for Aventura Hospital, and Chaplain for the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department.
Rabbi Baron enjoys giving classes and writing articles that address Life's everyday challenges from the Torah's perspective. He writes for the local Sunny Isles Beach newspaper and maintains a weekly column in Chabad of Sunny Isles Beach's newsletter. To view, a selection of articles click here .
